A Little Bit About Me and My Philosophy

I Have been involved in photography most of my adult life. It started as an interest when I has in the US Air Force in the late 70's and became a serious hobby in the early 80's. From there it  morphed into a side gig doing weddings and portraits in the late 80's.

In 1998, my wife and I open a storefront studio in Oxford, MA. My wife handled the customer service and business aspect, while I handled the majority of the shooting and the editing. We were quite busy! Booking approximately 25 to 30 weddings a year as well as 10 to 15 high school senior portait sittings and about 10 family portrait sittings per year. In the early 2000's we expanded into the commercial photograpy on top of our wedding and portrait work. We began working with a local restaurant chain called "99 Restaurant". They were expanding and opening new locations and were looking for Public Relations photography coverage for those locations, which we were able to provide. We were contracted to the US Army's North East Recruit battalion out of Albany, NY providing event photography for their annual awards and military ball. We provided the same type of services  to High School Junior ROTC units for 3 local high schools in the Central Massachusetts area.

In 2011, after the passing of my wife and partner, I started to slowly remove myself; it became too difficult to run it as a business without my wife to do the selling and paperwork while I still maintained a full-time career as a Safety Engineer. In 2012, I closed the storefront studio, stopped taking on new work and chose not renew any of our existing contracts.

But as always, the desire to create photographic art was still with me and needed to be fed. This is when I started working in the field of sensuous and erotic photography. I worked with local models, people from the alternate life style community that were looking for someone who was not afraid to shoot in a way they felt the need to express themselves. I work with the stong belief that every body, man, woman, trans, non-binary--has a story to tell.  There is always beauty to be found in the human form. I believe as a photographer, it is my responsibility to find that beauty and bring it forward.

In 2021, I retired from my full-time occupation and relocated along with my significant other to Timberlake, NC. Now that I am finally settled in our new home, I am once again looking to open up my new studio under the name Midnight Blue Photography. I have setup a studio in my garage, we also use rooms in the home along with the 3 acres of wooded land the surround our house to create our images.
